Explore the most iconic mountains of East Java. Bromo Mountain is an active volcano sitting in the vast landscape of Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. You will explore the whole terrain with a jeep ride with sunrise as a start. From Bromo, we move on to Ijen Crater. Here you will see the beautiful turquoise crater lake during sunrise. From the mouth of the crater, let’s trek down to see the Blue Fire, an authentic phenomenon only exists in two place in the whole world.

DAY 1 PICK UP – BROMO
- Welcome to Indonesia! Meet your guide & driver for the trip. They will greet you in your preferred pick point (airport/hotel/station).
- Head to Bromo. Waste no time & understand about life in Indonesia from your guide.
- Visit Madakaripura Waterfall. You’ll experience short scooter ride, 45 minute easy walk through the valley, walking through a short river, and a splash under a waterfall curtain. NOTE: Madakaripura path currently broken and it’s not publicly open. Therefore there will be no insurance upon entering Madakaripura. We will exchange to complimentary lunch if you prefer to skip it.
- Check in hotel. Free time and rest
DAY 2 BROMO – IJEN
- Be ready by 03.00 am, your jeep will take you to the sunrise point of Kingkong Hill or Penanjakan Hill. Your guide will try to take you to less crowded spot with best view.
- Enjoy the sunrise and the iconic view of Bromo National Park
- Ride on a bumpy jeep ride through the Sea of sand
- Photostop with jeep in Lembah Widodaren. Your guide will help take pictures for your keepsake memories.
- Hike up to Bromo crater (30-45 minutes hike)
- See the volcano upclose from the mouth of the crater
- Back to hotel for breakfast and shower. Check out
- Head to Ijen (5-7 hour drive).
- Check in hotel and free time
DAY 3 IJEN – DROP
- Get ready by 00.00 / 01.00. Head to Ijen start point
- Start trekking up 1.5 hours accompanied by our trusted local guide. Ijen local guides are from nearby villages who used to be sulphur miner. They learnt English to accompany travelers and earn better income.
- Go down the mouth of crater for blue fire (at times, blue fire may be closed due to the crater activity and or weather)
- Additional fee for blue fire IDR 25.000/person
- Trek to the sunrise point. Enjoy the beautiful Ijen Turquoise Lake
- Trek back to the start point
- Head to the hotel for breakfast and shower
- Drop in your preferred drop point. Say farewell to your guide and driver, and see you next adventure!

FAQ
Should I do Bromo – Ijen Tour or Ijen – Bromo Tour?
Scenario 1: Pick up in Surabaya/Malang/Yogyakarta and drop in Ketapang Harbour.
Choose Bromo – Ijen Tour because the ending point of Ketapang Harbour is nearby Ijen
Scenario 2: Pick up in Surabaya/Malang and drop back in Surabaya/Malang.
You can do both Bromo- Ijen or Ijen-Bromo, but it’s recommended to do Ijen-Bromo as most of our traveler said its less exhausting. But if your picking up time is after 2 pm, choose the Bromo-Ijen Tour so you wont reach the hotel too late.
Scenario 3: Pick up in Bali and drop in Surabaya
Choose Ijen-Bromo Tour. No doubt 🙂 If you need to go back to Bali, better take the flight from Surabaya, its time & budget efficient.
