General Information of Menjangan Island
Menjangan island is a small island part of West Bali National Park. This inhabited island is home to wild deers. West Bali National Park is in the most western part of Bali and close to the Gilimanuk harbor, where we can cross the ferry to Java Island. This site is famous for diving/ snorkeling and has one of the best wall site.Its fine and preserved coral with abundant tropical fish, clear water and calm sea make it a snorkeling paradise. Menjangan Island ranks 3rd on Discovery Channel’s list of the World’s 10 Best Spot for Snorkeling.
To reach Menjangan Island, one must take the boat (motored-fisherman wooden boat mostly). We can start from the Banyuwangi site in Java, or from Banjuwedang area in Bali. Both site offers a lot of hotel you can stay on before the trip. Banyuwangi has more hotel from budget to five star resort. Some of our favorites are: Ketapang Indah Hotel, Illira Hotel, Kokoon Hotel. While if you are looking for something more luxurios, Dialoog Hotel, Kunang-Kunang Resort, and Villa Solong can be your option.
If you prefer to stay in the Bali Part, Mimpi Menjangan hotel offers a natural hotspring pool in their resort. While Menjangan Dynasty got glamping-tent with beautiful beach and infinity pool. Plataran Menjangan also a great place to stay with its mangrove beach.
Going to Menjangan Island from Banyuwangi, you can also visit Tabuhan Island on the way back. While if you go from Bali, you can also visit the Gili Putih.
Most of the snorkeling package to Menjangan offers the snorkeling gear as well, so you don’t need to worry about that. Though if you have one, its better to bring your own. Diving is also a favorite activity in Menjangan with many operator offer diving package for both certified and non-certified diver.
Best Time To Menjangan Island
Menjangan Island can be visited the whole year. The best time to visit is during the dry season around April-October with more clear visibility. The current around Menjangan is relatively calm for snorkeling. Its best to start the tour in the morning, usually starts at 08.00-09.00 and ends at 15.00.

At first you will ride the boat for around 1 hour to reach the Menjangan Island. Once arriving, we will start snorkeling in 4 spot: Sandyslope, Coral Garden, Ganesha Temple, and Mangrove. Enjoy lunch in Menjangan Island.
Temperature, Culinary and Toilet
The temperature is warm and the water is fresh. There is no restaurant, we will bring you lunchbox to savor in the island while enjoying the beach. There is one very basic toilet in the island.
